Bein Kodesh Lchol--Seperation between The Holy and The Mundane (Artist Itamar Rubner)
Acrylic on Canvas
50cm * 150cm
This is a literal play on the words, we view a scene morphing from Kodesh (the holy), represented by the Holy Temple and the Menorah, over to Chol (the mundane, lit. the day) where reality is suggested by wheat stalks awaiting harvest and sky scrapers darken the horizon. In between the two scenes lies the anchor and the balance, the sabbath, which carrys us from spiritual to physical and allows us to fuse the two in the timeless holiness of Shabbat.
